Everyone who wants to volunteer in the new coronavirus trial in the US can apply via the new website that’s live since last night.
However, Dr. Fauci was worried a week ago because according to the statistics, one-third of Americans refuse to be vaccinated, whatsoever.
The new website for COVID-19 vaccination volunteers is coronaviruspreventionnetwork.org, and they will actually conduct four studies, starting this summer and fall.
The website was announced by the US Department of Health and Human Services, while the studies will be controlled by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, as a vaccine clinical trial center.
To register, you need to fill in a basic questionnaire that will help the officials decide if you are a good candidate or not.
Some of the questions include race, age, work, and how many people you have contact with, which can tell if you have high chances of contracting coronavirus.
People who obey the rules to stay home and wear a mask every time they leave their homes are not good volunteering candidates, because they are not exposed to COVID-19 in the first place, so the doctors can’t tell if the vaccine protects them or not.
The exact number of needed volunteers is unknown but from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center said they would need 10,000 to 30,000 people per trial.
