It seemed that the world’s going to reopen to save the economy and that the coronavirus situation is under control, but that was not true.
After spiking in almost every state, and President Trump’s decision to withdraw the country from the World Health Organization, the US portion of COVID-19 pandemic cake is reaching new levels.
Last night, Tuesday, the United States reported 60,021 new infections and 1,195 deaths, the highest numbers in a single day since the beginning of the pandemic.
The devastating data sums up to the total infections rate, which is reaching 3 million people today while 131,480 have died due to coronavirus complications.
These numbers include the testing results from the 50 states and US territories.
According to the experts, the numbers are probably higher because they don’t include asymptomatic people who never got tested or diagnosed.
While New York and Washington were hit most severely since the pandemic began, other states are showing a slow growth in cases and deaths, which means they haven’t reached their picks yet.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the leading infectious disease specialist in the US, said “We have to realize that we’re a large country that has outbreaks in different regions, different states, different cities, that have different dynamics, and different phases in which they are in.”
