The mayor of Miami, Florida, Francis Suarez, announced that people in Miami are no longer going to receive a warning for not wearing a mask, but get fined right away.
The first time offense of the city’s mask order will be $50.
If someone disobeys the rule more than once, the amount will be higher.
According to Suarez, this is the only way to try to control people and make them wear masks.
Wearing masks is indicated as one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of coronavirus, especially in the U.S., where the cases are increasing.
There are still no new lockdown and stay-at-home measures in Miami, but that might happen in the following days.
While coronavirus cases spike in Florida, Texas is reaching the highest COVID-19 death rate in a single day, 174 people.

The number of new coronavirus cases in Texas on Friday is 10,256, while the total number of infected reaches 307,572, according to the Texas Health and Human Services.
The coronavirus situation in the U.S. is totally out of control, and there is no sign of a decline in new infections and death rates across the country.
Authorities are reminding us of the importance of wearing a mask and social distancing as the only hope to stop the spread of the novel virus.
