Japan is one of the countries with the lowest infection rate in the world.
However, the country reported a slight increase in daily cases, reaching over 440 new infections per day.
According to the Japanese Health Ministry, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country is 76,369, and 23,000 are in Tokyo.
The worst part of the pandemic for Japan was in July when they had over 1,000 new infections per day, and since then, the numbers are dropping.
Although the positivity rates in Japan were below 400 for a while, now the country reports a new surge.
Despite the new cases, Japan will ease the restrictions and extend the working hours of bars and restaurants.
The limitations of crowds on professional sports games will also change, and more than 5,000 people will be allowed to attend the events.
The total death toll in Japan since the beginning of the pandemic is 1,455.
