American Officials Say that People Could Save 70,000 Lives by Wearing Masks

Wearing masks, social distancing, and frequent hand disinfection is what U.S. health officials are asking the population over and over again.

While some European countries like Holand let their citizens walk around without masks, and crowd the beaches with no social distancing, the U.S. suffers extreme surges in new coronavirus cases all over the country.

The United States already lost 160,000 lives due to the pandemic, and numbers can jump to 290,000 until December, according to the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) director Dr. Christopher Murray.

Mr. Murray claims that the American people could save up to 70,000 fellow citizens lives out of the 290,000 predicted deaths only by wearing a mask.

“It’s rare that you see something so simple, so inexpensive, so easy for everybody to participate in can have such an extraordinary impact in the US and also all over the world,” he said.

At least 39 states are reinforcing their mask mandates and asking people to respect the rules to save lives.

Of course, there are plenty of civilians and doctors who claim masks don’t work, but the statistics are saying something completely different.

The CDC warns on wearing a mask with a vent or a valve, as droplets can escape through the vent and infect other people.
